HAND EMBROIDERED COTTON PANT

The embroidery on these pants draws on Chikankari, the traditional embroidery style associated with Lucknow, concentrated here at the lower leg rather than spread across the whole garment.

What's visible on this piece:

• Large sunflower-style floral motifs worked in tonal white thread at the lower leg, the most prominent and detailed embroidery on the pants
• Smaller floral and leaf sprigs filling the space around the larger motifs, building a layered, garden-like cluster rather than a single repeated pattern
• Plain, unembroidered fabric through the waist and upper leg, keeping the embroidery deliberately concentrated at the hem where the harem cut gathers in
• A wide crochet lace cuff at each ankle, a textile detail distinct from the embroidery, adding a second craft technique to the finished edge
• A drawstring tie at the cuff opening, both functional and decorative against the lace trim

Concentrating dense embroidery at the hem rather than spreading it thinly across the whole garment is a considered design choice — it means the detail reveals itself with movement and at closer range, rather than announcing itself from a distance the way an all-over pattern would.

Since this listing is for the pants only, styling suggestions below are pairing ideas — not included items.

As styled (relaxed, contemporary): Paired with a fitted lilac cami top and clear-strap block heels, as shown, for an easy, warm-weather look that lets the embroidered hem be the clear focal point against a plain, fitted top.

Reinterpreted, contemporary routes:

• With a plain white or cream fitted top — keeps the palette tonal and lets the embroidery be the sole detail in the outfit.
• With a solid-colour blouse in a pastel shade (blush, sage, or soft blue) — echoes the styled lilac pairing while giving room to match an existing wardrobe.
• With a plain kurti or tunic on top — since the embroidery sits low on the leg, it stays visible even under a longer top, making these pants easy to fold into ethnic-wear rotation.
• With minimal gold or wooden jewellery, and hair worn up, to keep the styling relaxed rather than formal — this piece reads more bohemian-casual than occasion-wear.

Footwear: heeled sandals for an elevated daytime look, as shown; flat sandals or juttis for a more relaxed version.
