PRODUCT TYPE Kurti

White on white asks a lot of the embroidery, because there is no colour to lean on. This kurti answers with density. A long panel runs from the neckline to the hem, framed by its own border and filled with a lattice of diamonds and small florals, each one built from tiny raised stitches that give the surface a grain you can see before you touch it. On either side of the panel, slim diagonal bands travel across the body and break up the plain white without crowding it. The back is quieter, with leaf motifs set apart from one another. Cut straight through the body with a gentle flare to the hem, in pure viscose that falls softly and moves with you. Sold as the kurti alone.

This kurti is made in Georgette — a lightweight fabric with a fine crinkled texture and a naturally fluid drape. Georgette is especially suited to dense embroidery work like this: its crepe surface gives layered, close-set stitching room to hold definition without the fabric turning stiff or heavy, and its semi-sheer quality lets light pass through the embroidery rather than sitting flat against it.

What this means for the wearer:

  • Lightweight despite the density of embroidery — the fabric itself stays soft against the body
  • Semi-sheer character typical of Georgette
  • Fluid drape that moves with the body rather than holding a stiff shape
  • A delicate fabric that calls for gentle, low-heat care

Note: fabric composition (100% Georgette vs. a blend) and comes with a inner lining.

This listing is for the kurti only. The pairings below are suggestions, not included items.

As styled: Straight white trousers with a leaf motif at the hem and embellished flat juttis, for a tonal, clean look that lets the embroidery lead.

Other ways to wear it:

  • With ivory or cream straight trousers for a softer, slightly warmer take on the white-on-white palette
  • With palazzo or wide-leg trousers to balance the straight line of the kurti with volume below
  • With denim, in a mid or dark wash, for an everyday look where the embroidery is the only dressy detail
  • Over a slip or camisole in a soft tone such as blush, sage or champagne, which also adds a little colour behind the translucent viscose
  • With a plain dupatta in a pastel or ivory for festive occasions

Dense embroidery already carries the outfit, so keep jewellery simple. Small gold earrings or a slim bangle are enough.

Footwear: flat juttis or sandals for daywear; a low block heel for evening.

The embroidery draws on Chikankari, the Lucknow embroidery tradition known for fine white-on-white work. On this piece it is built from small raised stitches that give the surface a knotted, grain-like texture, especially in the front panel.

What's visible on this piece:

  • A long rectangular panel from neckline to hem, framed by a stitched border and filled with a diamond lattice and small floral motifs. This is the densest area of the garment.
  • Diagonal bands running across the body on both sides of the panel, in a twisted, rope-like stitch that adds movement to the plain fabric
  • A border along the keyhole neckline and shoulder seams, finished in small raised stitches
  • Leaf motifs and banded cuffs on the sleeves
  • Scattered leaf booti on the back, spaced apart and set against plain fabric, with an embroidered neckline edge
  • An embroidered band at the hem that closes the front panel

The kurti has two embroidery registers: dense, structured work at the front, and open, spaced-out booti at the back. That contrast makes it easy to wear as a front-facing statement piece or turn around and be seen from behind.

Top questions answered

Pure viscose, a smooth and fluid fabric with a soft drape and a gentle sheen.

Dense Chikankari embroidery in white thread: a diamond-and-floral panel down the front, diagonal side bands, leaf motifs on the sleeves, and scattered leaf booti on the back.

No — this listing is for the kurti only. The palazzo pants shown are for styling reference.

A straight A-line cut, straight through the body with a gentle flare toward the hem.

The viscose is lightly translucent, so a slip or camisole in white, ivory or a soft tone works well.

It pairs well with ivory or white trousers, structured denim, or a plain camisole layered beneath for definition.
